Howzat for Success: Shakib Al Hasan Graduates with a BBA Degree
Shakib Al Hasan's Heartfelt Speech: Mother's Inspiration Shines at Convocation Ceremony
Bangladesh's star cricketer, Shakib Al Hasan, added another feather to his cap by earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Attending the convocation ceremony at the American International University-Bangladesh on March 19th, the veteran all-rounder showed his versatility off the pitch.
Not only did he graduate, but he also played an essential role in Bangladesh's victory against Ireland, scoring a staggering 93 off 89 deliveries. This achievement makes him only the second Bangladeshi cricketer to surpass 7000 runs in ODIs and join an illustrious list of players to have accomplished the double of 7000 runs and 300 wickets in the 50-over format.
After the game, the 35-year-old fulfilled his long-awaited dream of graduation, which he reminisced during the emotional convocation ceremony. In his speech, he attributed his success to his mother's inspirational words. Shakib Al Hasan has proven himself both on and off the pitch, making him a true legend of Bangladesh cricket.
"When you dream, you dream it big and honestly work to achieve the goal," during the convocation ceremony, Shakib Al Hasan mentioned in his speech. The ceremony also saw Anamul Haque Bijoy, another Bangladeshi cricketer, graduate from AIUB.
Shakib's exceptional skills were on full display during Bangladesh's first ODI against Ireland. He scored a magnificent half-century, his 53rd in ODI, while anchoring the innings with Towhid Hridoy. The duo set up the foundation for Bangladesh's highest ODI score, demonstrating Shakib's flamboyant all-round capabilities.
Not content with his batting heroics, Shakib played a crucial role in the bowling innings, breaking Ireland's 60-run opening partnership by dismissing Stephen Doheny. This wicket triggered a top-order collapse, as Ireland lost four wickets for just 16 runs. Eventually, they were dismissed for a lowly 155 runs, thanks to Shakib's all-round brilliance, giving the home team a comprehensive victory in the ODI series opener.
